2020 has brought more challenges than any of us would have ever anticipated. Now more than ever we must support each other—we must pour into our communities and stand by those in need. Every winter, each employee selects a local charity to support by donating a 212 Christmas bonus. May we all cultivate deeper levels of generosity, gratitude, and selflessness this holiday season.
Melissa is continuing her annual tradition of donating to CASA of Kosciusko County. “My family has been involved in foster care work for as long as I can remember,” says Operations Manager Melissa Katip. “It’s a mission close to my heart as a sister to three siblings who would have been lost in the court and foster systems if they had not had someone to speak up for them and look out for their best interests.”
CASA advocates for and protects abused or neglected kids in the court system, ensuring that qualified, compassionate people protect each child’s right to be safe, be treated respectfully, and thrive in a loving family.
“We have seen the pain and hardships so many kids go through, often without anyone to support them. This is just a small way I can help provide that for a child,” explains Melissa. “I really appreciate what this organization does to advocate for kids who would otherwise have no voice.”
