I’ve decided to give to United Palestinian Appeal (UPA). While UPA helps Palestinians throughout the Middle East, they focus on the needs of children in the West Bank and Gaza, as well as refugee camps. Since the 1970s, they’ve been focused on a people group that is regularly overlooked and mistreated by the majority of the Middle East and the U.S. They cared about children and refugees before it became a political topic the past couple of years. This people group, especially the children, get looked past as they are not the “popular” topic or culture to care about.
United Palestinian Appeal has been faithful in their giving models and in making sure things like medical facilities, food, and education are provided. They routinely receive a perfect score from Charity Navigator on being faithful to their mission and finances. More than 95% of their finances are used for funding programs (only 2% for administration and 2% for fundraising).
