212 Gives Back: Helping Women and Children in Kosciusko County

Every December, each employee of 212 Media Studios receives a second Christmas bonus with instructions to donate it to a non-profit of his or her choice. Why? Because supporting our community and helping others is part of our ethos. In fact, this opportunity to give back has become a favorite holiday tradition in our office.

Inbound Marketing Strategist and Project Manager Jessica Hauck decided to support Kids Market. “This non-profit provides an opportunity for people to earn money, save money, and help others,” explains Jessica. Kids Market hosts a bi-annual children’s sale in which sellers receive 66% of their items’ profits; the remainder covers the expenses of the sale and helps meet needs of women and children in Kosciusko County.

“As a parent, I have benefitted from the sale,” says Jessica, “but I have also seen first-hand how our community benefits. Many children have needs met through this event: winter coats, shoes, clothing, books to read at home, etc.”

Jessica has been volunteering with Kids Market for many years because she believes in the organization’s mission. “I want better opportunities for women and children in my community,” she affirms. “I love that part of my sales and the items that I donate benefit those in my county—parents I could meet anywhere and children that go to school with my kids. There are needs that are often overlooked, and at Kids Market, we work hard to meet them.”
