212 Gives Back—Loving and Caring for Abandoned Pets

Every December, we launch our “212 Gives Back” initiative by giving all our employees an extra Christmas bonus. Rather than using this money for themselves, employees choose a local non-profit to donate to, and then share what they love about that organization with the rest of the team.

Social Media Specialist Elizabeth Garber is donating her bonus to the Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County. Thousands of pets come through the Animal Welfare League’s doors each year, and Elizabeth is passionate about making sure those pets are cared for until they find loving homes—without facing the risk of euthanasia. “The Animal Welfare League is a no-kill shelter, which is extremely important to me,” says Elizabeth.

Elizabeth has worked closely with the shelter in the past, which makes her even more eager to contribute to their mission. “When I was attending Grace College, I would go to the shelter to visit the animals,” Elizabeth explains. “This didn’t just make the animals happier—it made me happier, too.”

Spending time with animals was a great way to relieve stress during Elizabeth’s first few weeks at college, and she loves that the Animal Welfare League invites volunteers in to make sure all the pets are well-loved until they can find permanent homes in the community.
