Every December, we launch our “212 Gives Back” initiative by giving all our employees an extra Christmas bonus. Rather than using this money for themselves, employees choose a local non-profit to donate to, and then share what they love about that organization with the rest of the team.
CMO David Phelps is donating to CASA of Kosciusko County to support kids who are often overlooked in our community. “One of the ignored impacts of the opioid epidemic in this county is that so many children are living in dangerous situations with little to no parental care,” says David, who loves CASA’s mission to make sure children don’t become collateral damage of a broken system.
“CASA works to save children from dangerous environments and represents them in the court system, being a voice for them when they can’t speak for themselves,” says David. While many organizations focus on treating those with addictions, David appreciates that CASA goes the extra mile and works to protect the children who are impacted by addictions in their families.
David has a front-row seat to CASA of Kosciusko County’s work because of his friendship with its executive director, Mackenzie Cloutier, and he loves that she’s so passionate about ensuring safe environments for all children. Because he knows how devoted CASA’s staff is to their mission, he takes every opportunity he can to share about how CASA is making a difference in the community.
