App icons floating around an iPhone

I have recently fallen in love with a few apps that I guarantee will help you be more efficient, disciplined, and productive. The following three apps are all free and will help you with your day-to-day activities.

First, everyone should download, a personal finance app. This app takes just a few simple steps to get your account set up. It features budgeting, alerts, advice, and cash-flow statements. This intelligent app analyses your bank account information and builds out a personalized home page just for you. also suggest budgets for you based on your purchasing history. For instance, it suggests that I set aside $80 for fuel in September. What I love about this app is that it helps me make sense of my finances. With the ability to customize the app, you’ll be able to take control of your finances.

2. Kingsoft Office

Kingsoft Office is my next must-have app. It allows you to create power points, word documents, and spreadsheets on your phone. Although you may not want to type all your papers with Kingsoft Office, it may help you make one last edit on the road, or let you view that spreadsheet your boss just sent out. This app allows you to open and view 23 file types including the major Microsoft formats. Kingsoft also has a built-in file manager where you can create folders just like you would when working on your computer. This app is available for free on all mobile device users.

3. AutomateIt

My final app, AutomateIt, is one of my favorite apps for productivity and simply getting more out of your phone. This app allows you to automate your phone just like the title suggests. This app allows you to set rules for your phone that work with triggers such as battery life, time of day, calendar, activity monitors and much more. Have you ever been embarrassed when your phone goes off at church or at work? With AutomateIt, you can set up a time trigger to automatically quiet your phone every Sunday from 10:30 until noon, for example.

Perhaps the best use I have seen of AutomateIt is the activity recognition trigger, which allows detection of speed. With it, you can have your phone automatically do something when driving or while its sitting still. If you are like me, you could easily be tempted to read a text you received on the road. With this app, you can have your phone turn off text messages while you are driving. This could be a great tool for parents. Unfortunately, this app is only available for Android devices.

The thousands of productivity apps out there can be overwhelming. That’s why I took the time to recommend the apps above. If you’re looking to become more disciplined and productive, these apps are a great place to start.
