Most companies have a mission statement and guiding principles. At 212 Media Studios, we do things a little differently. As a relatively young company that is still developing, we didn’t want to limit ourselves. Instead, we took a hard look at who we are and what we want to be, both as a company and a team. That led us to developing an acronym that we hire and fire by. So, what does being a company with HEART look like and how does it affect our client relationships?

Humble – Most people hate to admit when they’re wrong or don’t know something, but we see no need to hide behind a know-it-all façade. We have found that admitting you don’t know or were wrong opens up discussion. This provides more opportunity for others to contribute their knowledge and skills to continually improve our products and services.

Effective – An important quote is often heard or seen around our office: “Are we being busy or effective?” There’s a difference between getting something done and getting it done well. We don’t want to waste our time and money—or our clients’ time and money—so we always think through what we’re doing, why we’re doing it, and what we expect to accomplish. If it isn’t effective, we reevaluate and adjust so our clients get the quality they deserve.

Adaptable – As a team, we take care of each other. We are all ready to step in and lend a hand when needed, even if it means changing our plans or putting something on hold. The same is true when a client needs to change direction or priorities: We adapt so we can accomplish what needs to be done. Not to mention that marketing and technology are ever-changing, so we are always ready to change our methods and strategies accordingly.

Remarkable – Everyone on our team is great at what they do, whether it’s a result of natural talent, hard work, or a combination of the two. But we don’t just hire based on work abilities—our employees demonstrate remarkable character and drive. When it comes to our products and services, we stay ahead of marketing trends so our work is new and fresh, appealing to the current markets and producing outstanding results.

Transparent – Although we always try to be kind in our approach, we don’t sugarcoat things or dance around the issues. We believe being open and honest allows everyone the opportunity to correct a problem or change tack. To be successful, a marketing strategy or product must be practical and effective—so if a client asks us for a black website with black text, we’re going to explain why it’s a terrible idea. We know our clients want results, and we will be honest about what will and won’t achieve that.
